How to enroll devices using Onboarding Wizard

Summary

  • User can enroll Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS or Linux devices to Endpoint Manager, so it will have a security policy applied to devices which will authenticate it to your company network and protect it from malware.
  • This article explains how to enroll the device to the endpoint manager.

 

Process in brief:

  • Login to ITarian.
  • Click 'Applications' > 'Endpoint Manager'.
  • Click "Enroll Device".
  • In the Device options, Select the device to enroll.
  • In the Enrollment options, Select the Enrollment type to enroll devices.
  • Check Your device configuration in the Installation summary.
  • By using the enrollment link, you can get the package to enroll the device to Endpoint manager.

 

Process in detail

  • Log in to your Endpoint manager.
  • Go to "Devices -> Device List - > Device management".
  • Then click "Enroll Device".
  • It will direct you to the enrollment wizard.

 

Select a device to install the endpoint manager

  • Select Device Admin can install endpoint manager to his current device or he can install it to other devices.
  • Specify user - This option enables you to change your current user or you can create with a new user. Based on the selected user device will be enrolled in the specific device group and customer. 
  • For creating a new user, click "Create New User". Then fill the details of the username, email, phone number, customer details and the role of the created user.

 

Enrollment Options

User can enroll his machine to the endpoint manager with two options. They are:

  • Enroll and Protect - This option enrolls the desired device with Endpoint Manager and also installs Comodo Client Security to the device. It requires a reboot.
  • Enroll - It only enrolls the device to the Endpoint manager. It does not install Comodo Client Security and Antivirus signature database in addition.

Select the Operating system of the Device - Select your device operating systems like Windows, macOS, iOS devices and Linux devices

Enroll and Protect

  • Enroll and Protect -It enrolls the device with Endpoint manager and also installs Comodo Client Security to the device. Choose a platform - Choose your platform whether to install x86 or x64 or hybrid packages.
  • Additional Options - Include initial Antivirus signature database when the antivirus component is configured in the profile. 
  • Configuration Profile * - Select the configuration profile that you want to apply for the device. If no configuration profile is selected, then the default security profile is applied.

 

Note:

Admin can change the Windows Communication Client version and Comodo Client Security version based on his choice. If no version is selected, then the default version is selected by the Endpoint manager. You can configure these settings in the client settings of their respective platforms.

Set Reboot Options

  • Force the reboot in – It restarts the end-point a certain period of time after installation. CCS will only become fully functional after the device is restarted.

            You can choose your choice of 5,10,15,30 minutes. The following message is shown on the device if you choose ‘Force reboot’:

 

           The device will restart automatically when the time elapses.

  • Suppress the reboot- Do not restart the machine after installation.
  • Warn about the reboot and let users postpone it - Show an alert to the user which advises them that their computer needs to be restarted. You can enter a custom message for the user.

 

Device Name Options

This option allows you to change the device name once the device is enrolled to Endpoint Manager.

Note: Device name will only be changed on Endpoint Manager.

Installation summary:

  • This option enables you to change the device configurations like enrollment type and reboot options.
  • Once the Enrollment type and configurations are set correctly, then click "Next".

 

Installation instructions

  • To complete the user device enrollment, copy and send this link to the user. The user can go to the link to get the installer package
  • If you want to email the enrollment link, Click "Send to Email".
  • For enrolling another device, click "Enroll Another Device" or to enroll Bulk devices click "Go to Bulk Installation Packages".

 

Enroll

  • Enroll option enrolls the device to the endpoint manager. It does not have Comodo Client Security and Antivirus signature database.
  • No default profile is applied to the device enrolled via the "Enroll".
