How to monitor windows security client events

In Comodo Client Security, new features have been added for monitoring the "Security Client Events". 
This new set of Security Client events monitor and keep us informed about the attention required items in Comodo security client setup on the customer environments.
This indeed helps us to ensure that the critical security settings are good in the endpoint.

The following types of event can be monitored,
1)Comodo Client Security communication error occurred
2)Last antivirus database update is older than
3)Another Antivirus solution installed
4)Antivirus scan failed or interrupted
5)Antivirus Database update failed

STEP[1]:

  • In ITSM go to "Configuration Templates" → "Profiles"
  • Please select profile associated with device or group.  

For example, a profile "CCS- security client events" is selected.

STEP[2]:

1) In "Add Profile section", select "Monitoring" and name it.
For example : A profile "CCS- security client events" with monitor name "Security client event monitor" is created.

2) In "Conditions" tab,click the drop down option "Add Condition", select "Security Client Events".

Step [3]: A dialog box appears which has the following option,
1)Comodo Client Security communication error occurred
2)Last antivirus database update is older than
3)Another Antivirus solution installed
4)Antivirus scan failed or interrupted
5)Antivirus Database update failed

Select any option by clicking the radio button and click "Create".

Step [4]: Let us see in detail the above options

1)Comodo Client Security communication error occurred - This option will monitor and will tell whenever Comodo Client security communication error occurs.
2)Last antivirus database update is older than - This option will tell whether the database is outdated or not from the last antivirus database update done ( For example: 1 day, 2 day 1 week, etc)
3)Another Antivirus solution installed- This will monitor and tell whether any antivirus (other than Comodo Client Security) is installed in the endpoint.
4)Antivirus scan failed or interrupted- This will monitor and give details about any failed or interrupted antivirus scan.
5)Antivirus Database update failed- This option notifies when the antivirus database update fails.

i) Comodo Client Security communication error occurred:
Select " Comodo Client Security communication error occurred" and click "Create".

For example: When any error occurs in Comodo Client Security communication ,The Monitoring Logs shows status ON with additional information that "Comodo Client Security communication error occurred".

 

ii) Last antivirus database update is older than

Click radio button "Last antivirus database update is older than", set time period and click "Create".
For example, The condition "Last antivirus database update is older than" is set for 1 day.

The Monitoring Logs for the above condition shows status "ON" when the Antivirus database is outdated.

 

iii) Another Antivirus solution installed:
Select "Another Antivirus solution installed" and click "Create".

For example: When any other antivirus has been installed in the endpoint, The Monitoring Logs shows that "Another Antivirus Solution installed: AVG Antivirus" and is in ON status.

 

iv) Antivirus scan failed or interrupted:
Select "Antivirus scan failed or interrupted" and click "Create".

For example: If any interrupt or failure happens during the antivirus scan, The Monitoring Logs will be in ON status with additional information "AV Scan Failed Monitor : Antivirus scan failed or interrupted: 0x80004004".

 

v) Antivirus Database update failed:
Select "Antivirus Database update failed" and Click "Create".

For example: When antivirus database update fails, The Monitoring Logs shows ON status for "Antivirus database update failed".
