How to view audit logs for remote control events

  • Endpoint Manager logs all actions implemented on managed devices by admins and staff. These logs can be useful when troubleshooting issues.

  • The 'Audit Logs' interface shows all logs for all event types. Each log includes the name of the person who ran the action, the affected device, the action taken, and more.

  • This article explains how to view event logs for remote takeover and file transfer sessions made via the Remote Control tool.

  • Click the funnel icon on the right

  • Select ‘Remote Control’ under 'Component name'

                               Column Heading      

                                                                                                          Description

     Staff

        Name of the admin or staff member who executed the action.
 

  • Click on the staff name to view their details

    Event Name

      The action executed on the device. Examples include remote control session, file transfer initiation, and remote control user authentication.

    Affected Object

     The device or a user account on which the action was executed.

  • Click the name to view more details about the item

  • The details interface lets you view and manage the item

    Old Value

     The previous setting or value before the action was implemented.

    New Value

    The new setting or value after the action was implemented.

    Extra Info

     Additional details about the action. These include: session authentication type, session connection type, session status, session start time and end time, session duration, disconnection reason, and more

   Session ID

    Unique string to identify the connection between the device and the EM server during the action.

   Log Creation Date

    Date and time of the event.
