How to Create a New Quote in ITarian CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

  • ITarian CRM is a sales automation tool which is part of the ITarian suite of enterprise solutions. The tool lets businesses implement strong, effective workflows to generate, nurture and close customer leads.

  • A quote is a statement of offered services and prices sent by a seller to a prospective buyer. Quotes usually contain a detailed list of products and services, prices and taxes, delivery dates, terms and discounts and more. You can edit quotes at any time to update details as required.

Process in brief

  • Log into ITarian then click 'Applications’ > ‘CRM’

  • Click 'ALL' > 'Quotes'

  • Click 'Add Quote'

  • In the 'Create New Quote' screen, complete the following forms:

    • Quote Details

    • Address Details

    • Description Details

    • Item Details

  • Click 'Save' to create a new quote in CRM

Process in detail

Step 1:

  • Log into ITraian then click 'Applications' > 'CRM'

  • If you are using this new feature for the first time then you will be taken to the store to enable CRM.

Step 2:

  • Click 'All' in the CRM menu bar then 'Quotes'

  • This will open the quote management interface from where you can add new quotes

Step 3:

  • Click 'Add Quote'

  • This will open the 'Create New Quote' screen. This area lets you specify general quote details, address and shipping information, terms and conditions, included products/services, and taxes/charges/deductions.

Step 4:

  • Complete the 'Create New Quote' form

  • Fields marked * are mandatory

Quote Details


Specify a name of the quote. This field is mandatory.

Opportunity Name

Select the opportunity related to the quote.

  • Click the search icon to select from a list of existing organizations
  • Create a new opportunity by clicking the '+' icon

Quote Stage

Select the current status of the quote.

Valid Unit

The date that the quote is valid until.

Contact Name

Specify the contact for whom the quote was created (optional).

  • Click the search icon to select from a list of existing contacts
  • Create a new contact by clicking the '+' icon


Select the name of the shipping company.


Optional. Add general notes about shipping that are not covered elsewhere. For example, 'Same Day shipment required'.

Inventory Manager

The person responsible for shipping the order to the account or contact.

  • Click the search icon to select from a list of existing contacts
  • Create a new inventory manager by clicking the '+' icon

Organization Name

The customer company that the quote is for (mandatory field).

  • Click the search icon to select from a list of existing organizations
  • Create a new organization by clicking the '+' icon

Assigned To

Select the staff member responsible for the quote. This can often be the same member of staff responsible for the lead, opportunity or organization related to the quote. This field is mandatory.

Address Details:

Copy Billing Address from

Choose whether to copy the billing address from the organization, contact or shipping address.

Copy Shipping Address

Choose whether to copy the shipping address from the organization, contact or billing address.

Billing Address

Billing address of the target organization.

Shipping Address

Shipping address of the target organization.

Description and Item Details:

  • This sections lists all products and services in the quote, along with charging information.

  • Click '+ Add Product' or '+ Add Service' to select items you want to include in the quote.

  • You can then configure item quantities, currency, tax rates, shipping charges and discounts.

Add Product

Add an existing product to the quote. You can add a product in two ways:

  • Enter the first three letters of the product name and select the product from the drop down menu
  • Click the product icon and select an items from the product list.

If required, you can create a new product in Comodo CRM by clicking 'Products' > 'Add Product'.

Add Service

Adds a new service item row to the table. Services can be added to quotes in much the same way as described for products, above.


Enter a description of the quote for the target organization. This will be visible in the final quote.


Choose the currency used for products and services in the quote. The currency is specified in the 'Grand Total' row of a quote pdf.

  • CRM currencies are defined in the 'Settings' interface.

  • Click the cog icon at top right to open the settings interface.

 Tax Mode

Group: Applies the tax rates defined in CRM settings to all products. You can review group tax rates as follows:

  • Click the cog icon at top-right > CRM Settings
  • Click 'Other Settings' > 'Tax Calculations'

Individual: Apply individual tax rates for each product. Product tax rates can be defined in the product's details page:

  • Click 'Products' > Click a product name > Click 'Edit'
  • Scroll the 'Pricing Information' section


You can perform two actions using tools.

- Delete an item

- Re-position the item in a specific order


The number of items of the type specified in the 'Item Details' column

List Price

There are four ways to populate the list price:

i) Choose an item in the 'Item Name Field'. The price will auto-populate if it has been defined in the product's details page.

ii) Enter a price manually.

iii) Select a price book which contains a specific price schedule.
Price books let you setup alternative price lists for your products and services. The price in a price book can be different to the 'standard', unit price. For example, your company may have a price book that has 10% off selected products.

Click 'All' > 'Price books' if you want create or view price books.

iv) Discount - Offer a price-cut on the 'standard' prices listed in the quote

  • Select 'Zero Discount' for no discount

  • Select '% Price' and enter a percentage discount

  • Select 'Direct Price Reduction' option and enter a discount in amount


Price after discounts are applied.

Step 5:

  • Click 'Save' to create the new quote

  • Click 'All' > 'Quotes' to view and edit the quote in future.

  • You can update quote details and status over the course of the quote lifecycle.
