  • Security events are generated whenever Comodo Client Security performs an action on an endpoint file.
  • For example, an event is created when a file is quarantined.
  • Security events can be generated by the antivirus, containment and application-control components.
  • The security dashboard lists all such events and is available in two views:
    • Event View -  Shows events in chronological order.
    • File View - Groups all events which concern a specific application into a single row.
  • You can take the following actions on the files that caused the event:
    • Action on Endpoint - Applies to quarantined files. Delete the file or restore it to its original location.
    • Change Rating - Manually rate files as trusted, malicious or unrecognized. The new rating will apply to all protected devices, not just those on which the file was found.

Summary

  • Login to ITarian
  • Click 'Security Sub-Systems'> 'Security Dashboards'

Each row contains vital information about the event time, severity, action, target device, and the component which generated the event.

Events may be generated per-component for the following reasons:

Antivirus:

  • File blocked, moved to quarantine or ignored
  • File restored/removed from quarantine
  • File rated as trusted, or submitted as a false positive
  • File added to the exclusions list

Containment:

  • File blocked, ignored or run in the container by:
    • An auto-containment rule in the profile on the device
    • A local user running the file in the container on a one-off basis

Application Control

  • Unrecognized and malicious files added to, or removed from, the CCS 'File list'.
  • Changes in the trust rating of those files

The tabs at the top let you change the way events are listed:

  • Event View - View events in chronological order. Click the 'File Name/Path/Hash' headers to order by header then time.
  • File View - Groups all events which concern a specific application into a single row.

The buttons above the table let you take actions on the files that caused the event.

Select an event then choose one of the following actions:

  • Action on Endpoint - Applies to quarantined files. Delete the file or restore it to its original location.
  • Change Rating - Manually rate files as trusted, malicious or unrecognized. The new rating will apply to all protected devices, not just those on which the file was found.

All changes are implemented on managed devices during the next sync.
